No two people are the same, so we use some of your information to tailor your Snapchat experience especially for you!
On Spotlight and Discover in the Stories tab we use algorithms to personalize and rank content. We believe content is more relevant and entertaining when it’s personalized to your interest, and not someone else’s. For example, if you watch a lot of sports content, and tell us that you don’t like hair and makeup tips, we'll prioritize showing you sports and skip those makeup tips. You can find more information on the following support pages: How We Rank Content on Spotlight and How We Rank Content on Discover.
Similarly, we believe that Lenses are most relevant and valuable when they are personalized to your interests. For example, if you love engaging with Sports Lenses, such as Sports, the algorithm will learn this and prioritize Lenses with Sports themes. We explain more about how we personalize Lenses on How We Rank Lenses on Snapchat.
We also want to show you ads that are relevant, fun, and interesting to you. If you’re on your way to becoming the next top chef, ads about cookware and recipes may enhance your time on Snapchat; ads about trampolines, maybe not so much (unless you like jumping!). You are unique, and that means the ads that you will see are often driven by what we think are your interests, your activity on our platform, and information that our partners and advertisers provide to us about you. We explain more about how we personalize ads on Snapchat Ads Privacy & Transparency.
The Snap Map enables you to share your location with select friends, find things to do together, and explore the world. While the Snap Map is personal to you, and provides an overview of your location and your friends (if they share their location with you), the content that is shown to you on Snap Map is not personalized. We explain more about how content is ranked on How We Rank Content on Maps.
