You have choices about how Snap and its third-party ad partners use information about you for advertising purposes both on and off Snapchat. If you live in certain jurisdictions, our legal requirements may affect your choices (regardless of your age).
In some cases, teens are automatically opted-out of certain ad settings.
If you are under 18 in the EEA or UK, you will automatically be opted out of Audience-Based Ads, Activity-Based Ads, and Third-Party Ad Networks regardless of your in-app selections.
If you are under 16 in Montana or Oregon or under 18 in Connecticut or Maryland, you will automatically be opted out of Activity-Based Ads regardless of your in-app selections.
If you are under 18 in Maryland you will also be opted out of Audience-Based Ads regardless of your in-app setting.
These settings do not override or impact the iOS App Tracking Transparency setting for your device. Snapchat respects the device iOS App Tracking Transparency setting regardless of the choices here.
If you live outside of these jurisdictions, or you’re over 18 (or 16 as applicable) in these jurisdictions, you can learn more about those choices and how to adjust them in Snapchat here.
Please Note: You’ll still see ads, but those ads may be less relevant to you. You may also continue to see ads based on information from the service you’re using. For example, on Snapchat you may still see ads based on information you provide us and inferences we make based on your activity on Snapchat and other Snapchat services, like which Stories you watch.
