Yes, Story Replies on public Stories are on by default. Don’t worry – Story Replies from your followers will only appear in your Story Management screen and in the Activity feed of your Public Profile. You can always choose to hide all Story Replies by toggling the setting 'Show Story Replies' off in your Public Profile settings in Profile Management.
