Never share your password with anyone — not even us! A Snapchat representative will never ask you for your password. We don’t need it to help you.

I want to reset my password in a web browser
- Visit the Snapchat Accounts Portal
- Enter the phone number or email associated with your Snapchat account
- Click ‘Forgot Password’
- Send a one-time login code to your phone or email
- Follow the instructions in the SMS or email you receive
I want to reset my password from the Snapchat login screen by email
- Tap ‘Forgot your password?’
- Then select how you would like to reset your password — via email
- You should receive a password reset link via email to the email address associated with your account
- Click the URL — if you cannot click the URL, please copy and paste the URL into your browser
- Lastly, enter your new desired password!
Select a password that is at least 8 characters in length, that does not contain your name, username, phone number, birthday, or other personal information. It is best to include a mix of numbers, symbols and/or capital and lowercase letters in your new password.
I want to reset my password from the Snapchat login screen by text
- Tap ‘Forgot your password?’
- Then select how you would like to reset your password — via SMS
- A verification code should be sent to the phone number associated with your account
- Enter the verification code and select ‘Continue’
- Lastly, enter your new desired password!

I lost access to or forgot the mobile number I used on my account
If you have an email address associated with your account, you can also reset your password via email.
For security reasons, we're unable to reset a password for an account if:
- Your account does not have an associated email address or mobile number
- You do not know the associated email address and/or mobile number
- You do not have access to the email address and/or mobile number linked to the account
However, you are welcome to create a new account using your email address and mobile number!
