What are Passkeys?
A passkey is a digital credential tied to your user account that can be used to log in to your Snapchat account without having to remember a password.
Why should I create a Passkey?
Passkeys are a safer and more secure form of authentication than passwords. Passkeys take advantage of security features already allowed on your device, such as Face ID, Passcode, Touch Unlock, and PIN. Snapchat can't access this biometric data.

How do I login using Passkeys?
If your device has the passkey stored, the passkey pop-up will automatically appear once you’re on the login screen. If for whatever reason, the pop-up doesn’t show up, try exiting and reopening the app or logging in with an alternative method.
Why am I seeing an error when I try to add a Passkey?
Snapchat currently supports passkey enrollment only via Google Credential Manager on Android. On some Samsung devices, Samsung Pass is set as the default passkey storage—this can cause an enrollment failure. To resolve this:
- Go to your phone’s Settings and search for passkeys (or navigate to Passwords, passkeys & autofill).
- Under All services, toggle Google Password Manager / Google on.
- Reopen Snapchat and try Add Passkey once more.
⚠️ Please Note: Passkeys are rolling out slowly and may not be available to you just yet.
