What is a Public Profile?
Public Profiles come with features like the option to publish creative content like Stories, Lenses, and more to the wider Snapchat community! Only your friends can see your personal profile, but a Public Profile is visible to anyone on Snapchat ✨
Snapchatters aged 16+ have a Public Profile by default, but can decide whether or not they use it. Please note there are a few differences between Public Profiles for 16-17 year olds and Public Profiles for Snapchatters aged 18+.
No matter your age, if you would like to maintain a Public Profile, please remember to follow our Community Guidelines.
Where can I find my Public Profile?
When you open the Snapchat app, look for your Bitmoji or Story icon at the top left of the screen. Tap on your Bitmoji or Story to view your account profile.
If you see a 'Public Profile' button, you have a Public Profile!
I don’t see a Public Profile for my account.
Not every Snapchat account comes with a Public Profile. You may not have a Public Profile if you are younger than 16 years old or have violated our Community Guidelines in the past.
How can I tell if I have a public Business Profile?
Businesses of all sizes can use Business Profiles to feature their unique Snapchat assets and content and connect with their customers, but Snapchat does not create Business Profiles for them. Businesses create and manage their own Business Profiles using Ads Manager.
If you have not created a Business Profile in Ads Manager, your Public Profile is probably not a Business Profile.
If I have a Public Profile, can I become a Snap Star?
You can post public content with a Public Profile, but that’s just one part of what it takes to become a Snap Star. Many factors come into consideration, including:
- Account engagement
- Authenticity
- Content quality
- Notability and cultural relevance
