My account is locked

⚠️ My account has been temporarily locked...

Once enough time has passed, a temporary lock will end on its own. You can try logging back in via the app or by selecting 'Unlock My Account' on our accounts site. Be sure to take a look at common reasons your account may have been locked before logging back in again, or it may become permanently locked.

⚠️ My account has been permanently locked...

If you see a message that your account has been permanently locked, it means we've detected some activity that violates our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.

Can I appeal my permanently locked account?
Some permanently locked accounts may be eligible for an appeal. If your account is eligible, you’ll be able to access the appeal process in the app.

warning icon
Our Snapchat support team will not be able to unlock your account for you. The only way a permanently locked account may be unlocked is by submitting an appeal in the app.

Still need help?

I want to appeal a locked account

⚠️ What types of account locks are able to be appealed?

Accounts locked by our safety team for violations of our Community Guidelines can be appealed. If you have the option to appeal your account lock, you’ll be able to do so on the login screen in the Snapchat app.

Please Note: The reporting party and the reported party are notified separately about our enforcement action and how to submit an appeal.

⚠️ How can I submit an appeal for a locked account?
Locked account appeals can be made in the Snapchat app from the login screen. To access the in-app appeals process, open your Snapchat app and attempt to log in. On the pop-up screen, tap 'Appeal Decision' to start the appeal process.
