How much storage do I get for my Snapchat Memories?
You have up to 5GB of complimentary Snapchat Memories storage. If you save more than 5GB of Memories, you’ll need to upgrade to one of our Memories storage plans.
Can I see how much Memories storage I’m using now?
To view your current usage, follow these steps:
- Tap the gear icon ⚙️ in your Profile to open Settings
- Scroll down to ‘My App’
- Tap ‘Memories’ and check under ‘Cloud Storage’
If you’re getting close to the 5GB limit, you’ll also see a ‘Low Storage’ banner alert when you view your Memories in the Snapchat app.
Please Note: Memories storage plans are a new feature and are not available to everyone yet. If you aren’t seeing your current usage under ‘Memories’ in your Settings menu, then your Memories will continue to be stored as they are today until the new options roll out to you.
What are my Snapchat Memories storage upgrade options?
To upgrade, open Memories, tap ‘Upgrade Storage,’ and choose your plan.
- 100GB Memories-only plan
- Snapchat+ (typically includes 250GB)
- Snapchat+ Platinum (includes 5TB)
Please Note: If you’re on a Snapchat+ Family Plan, only the Family Plan admin gets the storage upgrade.
How much do Memories storage plans cost?
Please check your Snapchat app for the most-up-to-date information on pricing.
How do I upgrade my Snapchat Memories storage?
- Open Memories and look for the ‘Upgrade Storage’ banner, or try to save a Snap when you’re over the limit
- Tap ‘Upgrade Storage’ to see your plan and pricing options
- Pick a plan and follow the prompts
How do I manage my Memories plan?
You can manage or cancel a 100GB Memories-only plan in your Memories settings.
If you cancel your plan, but you’re still over the first free 5GB storage limit, you’ll have 48 hours to resubscribe before over-limit Memories are deleted.

What if I don’t see any banner about options to upgrade my Memories storage?
Memories storage plans are a new feature and are not available to everyone yet. If you aren’t seeing a banner offering Memories storage plan upgrade options, then your Memories will continue to be stored as they are today until the new options roll out to you.
If I go over 5GB, but don’t upgrade, what happens to my Memories?
Your oldest Snaps under the first free 5GB storage limit will be saved. More recent Snaps that are over the storage limit will be deleted.
If you’re over the 5GB limit, you’ll need to trim your Memories or upgrade your storage. You can always download your Memories to your device.
How does Memories storage work with Snapchat+ Family plans?
On Family plans, the storage benefit applies to the plan owner. If you are on a Family plan, but you are not the owner, you will need to leave the Family plan to purchase another Memories storage option.
