How much storage do I get for my Snapchat Memories?
You have up to 5GB of complimentary Snapchat Memories storage. If you save more than 5GB of Memories, you can upgrade to one of our Memories storage plans.
Can I see how much Memories storage I’m using now?
To view your current usage, follow these steps:
- In My Account, tap the gear icon ⚙️ to open Settings
- Scroll down to My App
- Tap Memories and check under Cloud Storage
If you have more than 5GB of Memories saved, you will also see a notice in the Memories section of the app. It shows how much storage you have used.
Please Note: If you are not seeing a banner offering Memories storage plan upgrade options, your Memories will continue to be stored as they are today, and you'll be notified when you're eligible for a Snapchat+ plan.
What are my Snapchat Memories storage upgrade options?
To upgrade, open Memories, tap Upgrade Storage, and choose your plan.
- 100GB Memories-only plan (paid Annual or Monthly)
- Snapchat+ (typically includes 250GB, paid Annual or Monthly)
- Lens+ (includes the same storage amount as Snapchat+)
- Snapchat+ Platinum (includes 5TB, paid Annual or Monthly)
Please Note: If you are on a Snapchat+ Family Plan, each member on the plan gets the Memories storage included with the plan.
How much do Memories storage plans cost?
In the US, you can purchase a 100GB Memories-only plan for $1.99/month or $20/year. Snapchat+ includes 250GB of Memories storage, and Snapchat+ Platinum includes 5TB. Prices may vary by market and local currency. Check your Snapchat app for the most up-to-date pricing where you live.
How do I upgrade my Snapchat Memories storage?
- Open Memories and look for the Upgrade Storage banner, or try to save a Snap when you’re over the limit
- Tap Upgrade Storage to see your plan and pricing options
- Pick a plan and follow the prompts
How do I manage my Memories plan?
You can manage or cancel a 100GB Memories-only plan (Annual or Monthly) in your Memories settings.
If you cancel a paid storage plan but still have more than 5GB of Memories saved, you will see information in the app about your storage status and your options, including upgrading again.

What if I don’t see any banner about options to upgrade my Memories storage?
If you are not seeing a banner offering Memories storage plan upgrade options, your Memories will continue to be stored as they are today, and you'll be notified when you're eligible for a Snapchat+ plan.
Will Snapchat delete my Memories if I do not upgrade?
No. Snapchat will not automatically delete your Memories because you do not upgrade.
Starting in January 2027, Memories that are more than one year old and are not part of your oldest 5GB of Memories will be archived and remain stored on Snapchat. You will continue to have access to Memories saved within the last year, as well as your oldest 5GB of Memories.
Archived Memories will appear as thumbnails in the app, but you will need to upgrade your storage to open, edit, or share them. You will have the options of subscribing or downloading your Memories to access them outside the app.
When we announced Memories Storage Plans, we committed to giving affected Snapchatters 12 months of temporary storage before any changes took effect. No Memories will be archived before January 2027, and we will provide advance notice in the app before anything changes for you.
How does Memories storage work with Snapchat+ Family plans?
On Family plans, each member on the plan gets the storage benefit. If you are on a Family plan and want a different storage option, you will need to get a separate subscription.
