What is the Imagine Lens?
The Imagine Lens is Snapchat's first Open Prompt Image Generation Lens. With the Imagine Lens, Snapchatters can create, edit, and recreate Snaps simply by entering their own prompts, then seamlessly share them with friends, post to their Story, or outside of Snapchat.

Including Friends with My Selfie
You can now include your friends' My Selfie avatars in your AI-generated images by using the '@' mention feature. Simply type '@' in your prompt and select from eligible friends to create collaborative AI content together.
Please note that only friends who have My Selfie set up and allow you to use their selfie will appear.
How do I use the Imagine Lens?
- If you’re a Lens+ or Snapchat+ Platinum subscriber, you can find the Imagine Lens near the front of the Carousel or in the Exclusive category
- Select the Imagine Lens, then tap the caption to edit your prompt, or keep one of the pre-loaded prompts
- Create your Snap and then share it with a friend, to your Story, or save it to share outside of Snapchat
Why do I see a message that I hit my plan limit?
Lens+ and Snapchat+ Platinum include compute-based usage limits for generative AI features like the Imagine Lens. If you reach the limit for the billing period, Snapchat shows that your plan limit is complete and how many days remain until your allowance resets.
Can I get more generations before my plan resets?
If you subscribe to Lens+ and reach your limit, you may see an option to upgrade to Snapchat+ Platinum for a higher monthly allowance. Follow the prompts in the app. If you already subscribe to Platinum and reach your limit, wait until your plan resets when the app shows your days remaining reach zero.
Does this apply to free Snapchat or Snapchat+ (non-Lens+) plans?
The Imagine Lens is for Lens+ and Platinum subscribers only. Free Snapchat and standard Snapchat+ (non-Lens+) accounts have separate limits on eligible AI Lenses and different upsell messages. See How do I use AI Lenses on Snapchat? for general AI Lens access.
I’m getting an error message when I try to use the Imagine Lens.
If the Imagine Lens isn’t working or you receive an error message, try these steps:
- Update your Snapchat app. Make sure you’re on the latest version in the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.
- Restart your Snapchat app. Completely close the app and open it again.
- Restart your device. Turn the device off and on again.
- Check your Internet connection. Switch between mobile data and Wi-Fi. If that solves the issue, please contact your data or internet service provider for more support.
