When you enable Ghost Mode, your location will still be shared with Snap, but it won’t be visible to anyone else on the Map. You can turn Ghost Mode on and off. Some Snapchatters may also see timer options.
To turn Ghost Mode on from the Snap Map:
- Open the Map.
- Tap the gear icon in the bottom right corner to open Map Settings.
- Toggle on ‘Ghost Mode.’
- Select a timer for how long you want to stay in Ghost Mode (3 hours, 24 hours, or Until Turned Off).
Pausing Music Sharing (Ghost Mode for Now Playing)
If you have linked Spotify to share your music on the Map, you can pause your music sharing at any time using a Ghost Mode style timer:
- Go to Map Settings.
- Tap on your linked music app under the "Now Playing" section.
- Toggle off Share Now Playing.
- Choose how long you want to pause sharing (e.g., 3 hours, 24 hours, or Until Turned Off). Your music sharing will automatically resume when the timer expires!
When you’re in Ghost Mode, your Bitmoji will hold up a blue sign with a ghost icon, unless you are sharing your live location.
Warning: Snaps you submit to Snap Map can still show up on the Map, no matter what location setting you choose!
