My mic sounds muffled or I’m getting bad audio quality recording on iOS 26

If your recorded audio sounds muffled, distorted, or “underwater” on iPhone, change your iOS mic setting while recording.

Fix for poor audio quality recording on iOS 26

1. Start recording a video in Snapchat
2. Open Control Center on your device
3. At the top of the Control Center screen, tap the ‘Snapchat Controls’ pill to continue
4. Under ‘Audio and Video,’ if your Microphone setting is on ‘Voice Isolation,’ change it to ‘Standard,’ and then to ‘Automatic’
5. Try recording again

Please Note: The microphone setting only appears in Control Center while your mic is active.
