If your content was removed due to a copyright report and you believe it's because of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter notification. This is a legal request for Snap to reinstate content that was removed due to a copyright report.
When can I submit a counter notification?
Only submit a counter notification if your content was removed due to a mistake or misidentification. This includes exceptions to copyright, such as cases of fair use or fair dealing.
Do not submit false information. Misuse of our processes, such as submitting fraudulent documentation, may result in the termination of your account or other legal consequences.
Who can submit a counter notification?
Counter notifications should be submitted by the original uploader of the content at issue. The original uploader must consent to sharing the information in the counter notification with the claimant.
How do I submit a counter notification?
If you would like to submit a counter notification, please submit it here.
What happens after I submit a counter notification?
After a counter notification is submitted, it is forwarded to the claimant if it meets all the requirements. Counter notifications that don't meet all the requirements may be rejected.
If the claimant does not notify us within 14 business days that they have filed a lawsuit against you, Snap will take steps to restore or allow you to republish the content that was removed or disabled and the copyright strike will be cleared from your account.
