What is Timeline Editor?
Timeline Editor lets you edit multi-clip video Snaps on a timeline. You can trim clips, add music, place text and stickers, and control when each item appears.
How do I open Timeline Editor?
- Take a video Snap from Camera or Director Mode
- On the preview, tap the video thumbnail labelled Edit
- To exit, tap the preview, drag the tray down, or tap the back arrow
How do I play back a clip in Timeline Editor?
- Tap play or pause
- Drag the timeline to scrub. If you pause, it stays paused until you play again
How do I edit a clip in Timeline Editor?
- Tap a clip, then choose: Split, Duplicate, Replace, Speed, Volume, Crop & Rotate, or Delete
- Drag a clip’s ends to trim
How do I add music to a clip in Timeline Editor?
- Tap Sounds or the Add a Sound layer
- Choose a track, then adjust
- Your track appears as its own layer under your clips
Important: Only one licensed song can play at a time. If your video is longer than the song, the song may loop to match your video length.
How do I add text captions to a clip in Timeline Editor?
- Tap Caption, style your text, then tap Done
- Set when it appears by dragging its layer in the timeline
- You can Edit, Duplicate or Delete a caption
Text to Speech is also available to add captions to some clips.
How do I add Stickers to a clip in Timeline Editor?
- Tap Stickers and choose a sticker
- Place it on your Snap, then set when it appears by dragging its layer
