What is California Assembly Bill No. 2481 and who does it apply to?
California Assembly Bill No. 2481 (codified in California Business and Professions Code, Division 8, Chapter 22.2.8) requires Snap to have a verification and reporting process for principals and similar administrators of K-12 schools located in California, as well as for mental health professionals providing services to California-based minors. Qualifying individuals must be verified and may then submit reports about alleged threats or potential policy violations posing a risk to minors for review by Snap’s safety teams within timeframes specified by the law.
