Why am I being asked for a code to log in?
If you’re being asked for a code to log in, it could be because you set up two-factor authentication (2FA). 2FA adds a step to the login process to help protect the security of your Snapchat account. When you have two-factor authentication turned on, and you log in to Snapchat you’ll always be asked to enter a Login Code.
Or, it could be an extra security step that Snapchat takes, usually if you’re logging in from a new or unrecognized device. This helps confirm the account belongs to you. When triggered, Snapchat sends a verification code to one of the contact methods linked to your account: your phone number or your email. You cannot always choose the method of verification.
What do I do if I can’t receive these codes?
If you lose access to your device and can’t receive any codes (either for 2FA or the security code), Snapchat Support may be able to help you log in to your account if you’re able to prove you own the account. Contact Snapchat Support here.
