How do notifications with Chat preview work?
Chat Preview lets you send a second Chat notification that shows a preview of the Chat message in the notification. You can only send a Chat Preview if no one (either the recipient or Group Chat members) has opened the Chat yet.
How do I send a Chat Preview?
You can send one Chat Preview per Chat.
- Press and hold on a Chat message that you sent that hasn't been opened yet
- Tap ‘Notify with Chat Preview’
In the Chat, you may see a bell emoji next to “Me” (only you can see this).
Please Note: Seeing the preview text in Chat Preview notification doesn't mark the Chat as opened. The recipient still needs to open the Chat to view it in the Snapchat mobile or web app.
