How do I link or unlink my Bitmoji with Snapchat?

If you already have a Bitmoji and want to link it to Snapchat…

1. Download the latest versions of Snapchat and Bitmoji on your phone
2. Open the Bitmoji app
3. Tap on the gear icon in the top-right corner
4. Scroll down to find ‘Link to Snapchat’
5. Tap ‘Continue’ to link your Bitmoji account to Snapchat!
6. If you have a Bitmoji linked to your account already, you will not be able to link a different Bitmoji account until you unlink your accounts.

Please Note: If your Bitmoji account was created through Snapchat login, it becomes a standalone Bitmoji account tied to your email after you unlink. You can’t add or use a phone number to log in to that Bitmoji account. Use the email on the account to sign in or recover access.

To remove your Bitmoji from your Snapchat account…

1. Tap your Bitmoji or Story icon at the top to open My Account screen
2. Tap on the gear icon in the top-right corner
3. Scroll down to ‘App & Privacy‘ and tap ‘My App‘
4. Under ‘Customize Appearance,‘ tap ‘Bitmoji‘
5. Tap ‘Remove My Bitmoji‘

Please Note: If you created a Bitmoji through Snapchat, unlinking will permanently delete your Bitmoji avatar and all fashion items saved in your Closet, including items that have been purchased.

Why do I still see a Bitmoji on my Profile after I remove it?

If you previously tried creating an avatar, a draft avatar may be saved on your device. After you remove your Bitmoji, your Profile may show the draft avatar you previously created instead of the default placeholder avatars.a0

Only you see this on your Profile. When your Bitmoji is removed, friends should not see your old Bitmoji on your Profile or in Chat. If a friend still sees your Bitmoji after you removed it, they may need to refresh by closing and reopening Snapchat.a0
