You can make a Voice Call right from a Chat with up to 32 friends at a time. To request a Voice Call, go to a Chat or Group Chat and tap the phone call icon.
Tip: The Voice Call will change to speakerphone if you hold your phone away from your face. Move the phone closer to your face to enable audio through the earpiece.
Can I start a Snapchat call from my iOS Contacts?
Yes, on iOS. To start a Snapchat call from the Contacts or Phone app without opening Snapchat first, follow the steps below.
- Open the contact you want to call in the Contacts or Phone app
- Choose Snapchat as the calling option
- If you and that person are friends on Snapchat, the call opens in Snapchat
Snapchat needs access to your contacts to match a phone number to a Snapchat account. If you have not granted access to your contacts, Snapchat may ask you to open Settings and enable it. Learn how to add friends from your contacts.
If Snapchat cannot match the number to a friend on Snapchat, you may see a Not on Snapchat alert. From there, you can invite them via SMS or make a regular phone call using your mobile service instead.
