My Snapchat Memories won’t back up

If you’re having issues backing up your Memories, connect to Wi-Fi and make sure your device has a good internet connection.

If Wi-Fi isn’t available, you can also back up your Memories over mobile data. Learn how to enable Smart Backup in Settings.

You may also need to free up storage space on your device.

To free up storage space on your device on iOS…

1. Tap the gear icon ⚙️ in My Profile to open Settings
2. Scroll down to "App & Privacy" and tap 'My Privacy & Data'
3. Under "Manage My Data," tap 'Clear Data'
4. Tap 'Clear Cache'
5. Tap 'Clear'
   (Clearing your cache won’t delete any of your Memories, Snaps, or Chats.)

To free up storage space on your device on Android…

1. Tap the gear icon ⚙️ in My Profile to open Settings
2. Scroll down to "App & Privacy" and tap 'My Privacy & Data'
3. Under "Manage My Data," tap 'Clear Cache'
4. Tap 'Continue'
   (Clearing your cache won’t delete any of your Memories, Snaps, or Chats.)
