If you’re having trouble adding a friend, make sure your device has a good internet connection. Try using Snapchat on both Wi-Fi and mobile data 📶
If there’s still an issue, there could be a few causes:
- The Snapchatter Blocked You
If a Snapchatter blocks you, then you can’t add them. Learn more about blocking Snapchatters. - The Snapchatter Deleted Their Account
If the account was deleted, then you can’t add them. The deleted account may still show up in Snapchat temporarily, until you log out and log back into the app. - You Have Too Many Friends
There’s a limit to how many friends you can have — it’s A LOT. If you reach this limit, then you can’t add more friends. You can remove old friends to make room for new ones, though 👋 - You added Friends Too Quickly
There's also a limit to how quickly you can add friends. If you reach this limit, try again later.
