If you’re a Snapchat+ subscriber, you’ll have pre-release access to the Footsteps feature, which lets you see how much of the world you’ve explored and keeps track of where you’ve been on the Snap Map whenever you’re not in Ghost Mode! You’ll see your exact Footsteps on the Map, and they’ll only be visible to you.
To start using Footsteps, go to the Snap Map tab, then tap ‘Okay’ on the Footsteps pop-up.
Why do I already see Footsteps on the Map if I just started using it?
The first time you use Footsteps, we’ll use your Memories that have a location attached to them to backfill your Footsteps so you have something to start with. This is a one-time thing, so after that, we’ll no longer use any new Memories to add to your Footsteps.
How do I turn off Footsteps or clear Footsteps data?
- Go to your Profile and tap ⚙️ to open Settings
- Scroll down to the “Account Actions” section and tap ‘Map’
- Toggle off ‘Save new Footsteps as my location updates on the map’ to turn off Footsteps. To clear your Footsteps data, tap ‘Clear Footsteps History.’
