What happens after I report abuse or illegal content on Snapchat?
Our safety team will investigate your report and take action based on our Community Guidelines and Terms and Conditions.
Please note that if we do not have all the information we need to investigate, we may follow up to request additional details. Also, once a report is submitted, it can't be taken back or withdrawn.
What if I reported someone by mistake and I want to take it back?
You can’t “unreport” an account, Snap, or message—even if your report was submitted by accident or intended as a joke. After you submit a report, there’s no way to take it back.
An account was locked or content was removed after I reported it
Only the account owner can appeal a locked account or content removal.
- If your account was locked and you believe it was a mistake, follow the steps in How to Submit a Locked Account Appeal
- If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake, see How to Submit a Content Appeal
