Travel notifications are a set of features that help you stay connected with friends on the Snap Map, providing updates about travel and location changes. These notifications are visible to friends you share your location with and consist of two key features: Friend in Town and Recent Moves.
Friend in Town
If a friend is sharing their location with you, Friend in Town alerts you when they travel to your town. You will receive a push notification that lets you know they have arrived.
How it works: As long as you are actively sharing your location with a friend, they can receive a push notification letting them know you are in their town.
Recent Moves
Recent Moves provides a visual indicator on your Bitmoji on the Snap Map, showing that you have traveled from one city to another.
- Standard callout: If you have traveled from one city to another, your Bitmoji on the Map may feature a callout above it saying, "Flew from (departure city)."
- Ghost Mode exception: If you were in Ghost Mode in the departure city, the callout will not be shown when you arrive in the destination city.
- Duration: This callout will appear on the Map for up to 24 hours. It may be viewable to those that you add to your location allow list, or newly added friends.
How do I turn Travel Notifications on or off?
To opt out of ‘Travel Notifications’ on the Snap Map from the Settings menu…
- Go to your Profile
- Tap the Settings gear icon
- Scroll to ‘Privacy Controls’
- Tap ‘Map’
- Toggle ‘Travel Notifications’ on or off
