You can choose to share your location with all of your friends on Snapchat by default.
To enable this setting from the Snap Map:
- Open the Map
- Tap the gear icon ⚙️ at the top of the Map screen
- Tap ‘My Friends’
Or, go to the Settings menu:
- Go to your Profile and tap the gear ⚙️ icon to open Settings
- Scroll down to ‘My Privacy & Data’ and find the ‘Who Can See’ section
- Tap ‘See My Location’ and choose ‘My Friends’
When you enable ‘My Friends,’ your location will be shared with all of your friends — including friends you add in the future! This option doesn’t include people who’ve added you as a friend, but who you haven’t added back. If you choose this option, we’ll check in from time to time to make sure you still want to share your location with all of your friends.
Please Note: If you and a friend have both added one another on Snapchat, you can choose to share your locations with each other on Snap Map. Your location on Snap Map updates based on your device's location permissions. If your permissions are set to “Only while using,” your location on the map will expire after 24 hours.
Warning: Snaps you submit to the Snap Map can still show up on the Map, no matter what location setting you choose!
