Yes, Story Replies on public Stories are on by default. Don’t worry – Story Replies from your followers will only appear in your Story Management screen and in Notifications in your Public Profile. You can always choose to hide all Story Replies by toggling the setting 'Show Story Replies' off in your Public Profile settings in Profile Management.
Can I still get Story Replies from followers if my 'Contact Me' setting is set to 'My Friends'?
