How do I set up my Payout Portal on Snapchat?
If you haven’t previously onboarded for payouts with Snapchat, check out the video below on how to set up your Hyperwallet Account! For written steps on how to set up your Hyperwallet Account, scroll down past the video.
- First, tap into ‘My Creator Rewards’ in My Profile to enter the Creator Rewards hub.
- Next, you’ll be asked to onboard by providing payout info such as your first and last name (no special characters), email address, state and country of residence, phone number, and birthdate (‘Contact Information’). We cannot pay you unless this information is accurate and your first and last name matches your full legal name as shown on your tax documents or government issued ID. You will not be able to edit this information in My Profile once submitted. If you are under the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, your parent(s)/legal guardian(s) must also provide consent before you can receive any payments. Once you have successfully submitted this information, your ‘My Creator Rewards’ page will say ‘Your Snapchat Payout Portal application is in review.’
- Next, if you have successfully provided your Contact Information and parental/legal guardian consent forms (if applicable), you’ll receive instructions at your provided email address on how to activate your Snapchat Payout Portal account via our partner, Hyperwallet at notifications@hyperwallet.com or do.not.reply@hyperwallet.com. This email may take several weeks to arrive as we process your application.
- When you receive the email, you’ll need to click on the ‘Activate’ button in the email to activate your Snapchat Payout Portal via Hyperwallet. If you are loading the email on an Apple device, please ensure your appearance settings are set to light.
It will then ask for an Access Code, which will appear in the 'My Creator Rewards’ section of your Profile within 48 hrs after receiving your email.
Please Note: If you see your Access Code in the Creator Rewards Hub but haven’t seen an email from Hyperwallet, please check your Junk or Spam folder and try to resend it.
- Once your Snapchat Payout Portal is created, follow the instructions to complete your account setup by entering your personal and business information, including taxpayer verification. The taxpayer verification process can take up to 2 weeks to complete. Having trouble filling out tax forms W8BEN or W8BEN-E? Learn how to fill them out here.
Please Note: The personal and business information you add in the Snapchat app will need to match the information you add into Hyperwallet. Otherwise, the Payout Portal application will be rejected.
- Upon successful completion of your Snapchat Payout Portal account, you will see any Creator Rewards in your Creator Rewards Hub! To learn how to cash out Creator Rewards, please continue to the section below.
How do I cash out Creator Rewards once I am onboarded?
Now that you are onboarded, you can begin collecting Creator Rewards and make your first Cash Out via the steps below:
- When you are granted a Creator Reward, you will be sent a push notification. Navigate to the Creator Rewards Hub by tapping on ‘My Creator Rewards’ in My Profile. Please note that the push notification is not immediate and may take several hours to receive.
- When you receive a Creator Reward, it will be displayed in the ‘All Activity’ section of the Creator Rewards Hub as ‘Pending.’ Creator Rewards take 14 days from the time of appearance in the ‘All Activity’ section of the Creator Rewards Hub to move from ‘Pending’ to ‘Available,’ at which time they will become available for cashing out.
- After your Creator Rewards move from ‘Pending’ to ’Available,’ your total Available balance will be displayed at the top of the Creator Rewards Hub, along with the USD cash out value.
Please Note: Creator Rewards are subject to your ongoing compliance with the Community Guidelines, Spotlight Guidelines, Terms of Service, Spotlight Terms, and any other applicable terms governing our Services. Non-compliance may result in the invalidation of pending and/or available Creator Rewards.
-
When you are ready to get paid your available Creator Rewards in USD, tap the ‘Cash Out’ button! Doing so will initiate a cash out of all available Creator Rewards to USD that will be made available in your Snapchat Payout Portal via Hyperwallet. Note that in order to initiate a payment, you will need to have enough available Creator Rewards for at least a $100 USD payment. Please also note that it typically takes an additional 14 days or longer for cash to be sent to your Snapchat Payout Portal via Hyperwallet after you have initiated a Cash Out from the Snapchat app.
You may choose to cash out as you please, but note that (subject to your compliance with the Community Guidelines, Spotlight Guidelines, Terms of Service, Spotlight Terms, and any other applicable terms governing our Services) we will initiate a cash out directly to your Snapchat Payout Portal account if you (i) have an Available Balance that has remained unchanged for one year OR hasn’t been cashed out in two years, and (ii) have enough available Creator Rewards for at least a $100 USD payment.
If your accounts are not in good standing or you have not satisfied the requirements outlined above, you will no longer be eligible to receive payment for Creator Rewards after one year or two years (as applicable) from initial reward.
- Once your payment is available in your Snapchat Payout Portal via Hyperwallet, you’ll need to withdraw your funds using the withdrawal method of your choice. You can choose from multiple withdrawal options (such as bank account or PayPal) when you withdraw funds from your Snapchat Payout Portal. Check out the Hyperwallet FAQ for more information.
When you withdraw funds (if any) from your Snapchat Payout Portal, you will be charged applicable transaction fees (listed in the link below) by our third-party payment provider. The specific transaction fees you will be charged are based on the method you choose to withdraw your funds and, if applicable, the currency to which you choose to convert your funds (if other than US Dollars).
